Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Community Health Services (MMS CHS) Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) staff worked closely with the Glencoe Chamber of Commerce to implement the Power of Produce (PoP) Club for the 2025 farmers market season.
The PoP Club is a farmers market incentive program for children. It is offered at the farmers market throughout the nation. Every other week, children ages 2 to 14 receive a $2 token to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.
PoP Club engages children at the farmers markets and empowers them to make healthful food choices. It aims to
· Increase family participation at farmers markets.
· Increase vendor revenue.
· Build healthier communities.
SHIP staff have brainstormed ways to implement this program for the past few seasons at the Glencoe Farmer’s Market. Thanks to SHIP, the Glencoe Chamber of Commerce, Glencoe Regional Health Foundation and Compeer Financial, the financial support and excitement for the program has brought it to life.
The Glencoe Farmer’s Market runs from 3:00pm – 6:00pm every Thursday through the growing season and is located at the Glencoe City Center, west parking lot:
1107 11th Street E
Glencoe, MN 55336
