Together we are Glencoe is a grassroots effort by residents and businesses in Glencoe to lead local welcoming efforts, ensuring that all voices are heard. This group was started by community members participating in the Welcoming Communities Project (WCP) funded through the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation Healthy Communities Grant.
Establishing a welcoming culture in any community requires ongoing, consistent work to foster equity and inclusion. In many ways, Welcoming Week provides an opportunity for us to cultivate the awareness and energy that’s needed to sustain those year-long welcoming efforts.
Efforts of Together we are Glencoe are supported by Glencoe Regional Health, the Southwest Initiative Foundation, Coborn’s, Larry Anderson-State Farm Insurance, and community residents’ contributions. You can follow the work of Together We are Glencoe on their Facebook page.
Activities that Together We are Glencoe support or are active in are:
- Glencoe’s Community Garden
- Welcoming Week Activities
- Glencoe Days
- Glencoe Unity Fest
Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Community Health Services is proud to be a part of these efforts and works with the community at-large to make our communities welcoming and strive to help residents feel like they belong.
