Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Community Health Services is proud to celebrate with the American Public Health Association in commemorating National Public Health Week 2024. This annual recognition, running from April 1st to April 7th, serves as a platform to recognize the invaluable contributions of public health professionals and raise awareness about critical issues impacting the health and well-being of communities nationwide.
The theme for 2024 is “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health”. Public health is more than just health care. It’s the steps we take to make sure our neighborhoods and environment are free from pollution. It’s making sure our food and water are safe to eat and drink. It’s also the relationships we foster in our communities. We’re all interconnected. When we all come together to support public health, all of us: individuals, families, communities, we can achieve the goals of public health. “As we celebrate National Public Health Week, we are reminded of the importance of collaboration and collective action in building healthier communities,” said Kiza Olson, Administrator of Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Community Health Services, “By coming together and prioritizing public health, we can create lasting positive change and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.”
National Public Health Week serves as a reminder of the critical role that public health plays in safeguarding the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Through education, advocacy, and partnership, Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Community Health Services remains committed to advancing public health initiatives and creating a healthier future for all.
“At Meeker-McLeod-Sibley Community Health Services, we are committed to advancing the health and well-being of the residents in our communities,” states Olson. “National Public Health Week (NPHW) provides us with an opportunity to highlight the importance of public health and the efforts of public health professionals who work to safeguard our communities.” You can learn more about NPHW at https://nphw.org/
